NEW to WBU Yorktown: Birds & Beans "Bird Friendly" Coffee
Drink coffee that’s GOOD FOR BIRDS!
Traditional coffee farming has destroyed the habitats of many migratory songbirds, contributing to their drastic decline in recent years. By simply drinking the right coffee, coffee lovers can help preserve over 250,000 acres of prime tropical habitat, saving birds and the Earth we all share!
Three-quarters of the world's coffee farms grow coffee in the sun and typically use harmful pesticides and fertilizers that poison the environment. When forests disappear, migratory songbirds disappear as well. In order to combat bird species population and habitat loss, Smithsonian scientists created the "Bird Friendly" certification.
Birds & Beans coffee brand has the Smithsonian Bird Friendly® certification; NOW available at WBU Yorktown!
Shade-grown coffee helps more than 42 species of North American migratory songbirds that winter in coffee plantations, including beautiful birds such as orioles, warblers and thrushes!
Look for "Bird Friendly" coffee, a certification from the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center that also includes organic standards. HELP US educate coffee shops and grocery stores about shade-grown coffees!
